More than 20 percent of adults today have sensitive skin. Someone who has sensitive skin may notice burning, itching or stinging and sometimes a sense of tightness. Those with sensitive skin may easily react to ingredients found in their skin products as well as sudden changes in climate or stress levels. Sensitive skin can affect any one from any ethnic background, but it is seen more in fair-skinned women who are Caucasian.
Symptoms of sensitive skin include skin that:

1. itches, blushes or sunburns easily.
2. has a reaction to wool or latex.
3. breaks out from food allergies
4. breaks out from the change in a skin care product.
5. shows stress.

Many times the foods you eat can affect sensitive skin. Some people’s skin may be sensitive to particular skin care, cosmetics or health products. Other causes may include stress, medication, and the environment.

Treatment for sensitive skin varies greatly, but the best treatment is to stay away from products or activities that typically cause a reaction. If you know what skin care products causes irritation for your skin, avoid these products. If there are particular foods that cause a reaction, stay away from those foods as well. Sometimes, if you are unsure as to what is causing your reaction, try keeping a diary of the food you eat, products you use and your activities. Note each time the reaction occurs and you will find out what the cause is.

If you have sensitive skin, simplify the routine you have for your skin. Putting too many abrasive or harsh chemicals on your skin will cause more irritation and redness. Many exfoliating scrubs are too rough for people with sensitive skin. You will see better results by just rubbing your skin with a soft cloth.

Over-washing the skin is a mistake many people make with sensitive skin. Washing the skin more than two times a day causes more harm to the skin. It is also recommended to limit a shower or bath to 15 minutes or less and use warm water to wash, not hot water that only dries out the skin.

Sunscreen is important for all skin types, but most important for those with sensitive skin. A sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15 is recommended. If you are in the sun for more than two hours, swimming or sweating, sunscreen needs to be reapplied.

There are many natural skin care options to treat acne. These are products that may be found in a kitchen cabinet or a grocery store. A natural acne treatment is a good choice since they don’t contain harsh chemicals.

Garlic Cloves- Rubbing garlic cloves around breakouts is a method that has been used for a long time and is a well known acne treatment option.

Wheatgrass Juice- This is one of the most popular options available to naturally treat acne. Drinking the juice does wonders for clearing up acne outbreaks.

Honey and Cinnamon Paste- This mixture is to be applied to the skin every day for two weeks to dry up acne.

Strawberry Leaves- To help reduce swelling of bumps from acne, place a strawberry leaf over the affected area. The alkaline in the leaves helps to relieve the irritation.

Toothpaste- Dot toothpaste over acne affected areas and helps to rduce the swelling of bumps. This does not work with the gel toothpaste, however.

Rose Water- This helps to reduce the appearance of acne when mixed with lemon juice.

Oatmeal Face Mask- A face mask of oatmeal and almond helps to keep skin clean, treats current out breaks and can help to prevent future out breaks.

Cucumbers- This is used by grinding the cucumber until it is a thick paste. It is then applied to the face and used as a mask for half an hour. This will help to diminish the look of a break out.

Honey- A pure, natural honey is effective at killing the bacteria that causes acne. This can be dabbed onto the face to help get rid of the bumps.

Tomato Pulp- Applying the pulp from a ripe tomato can help to clear up acne. This is worn on the face for an hour.

Another natural option to treat acne is by using essential oils. Many of these need to be diluted with a carrier oil and grape seed oil is a good choice since it will not further clog pores.

Tea Tree Oil- This oil is an anti bacterial treatment and also a wound cleanser. This oil helps to treat the acne as well as calming the appearance of the skin.

Clove Oil- This is a very strong oil that clears up acne fast. It cannot be used full strength, however.

Rosewood Oil- This is a good choice for oily skin because it can help to dry the skin out.

There are many natural options for treating acne and this can help to protect skin from harsh chemicals and save lots of money on treatments.

I have been thinking about upgrading my trusty old Canon Rebel 2000 to a newer digital model SLR. I already have a digital camera, two actually. But I really want to be able to get the quality and control of my SLR back. I have not touched the old Rebel for at least 2 years. I just cannot bring myself to go through the pain of using real film. I am spoiled by the digital revolution.

So My options are as follows. I have some pretty good lenses for the Rebel. I could keep those, sell the Rebel body on ebay and then just upgrade to the new digital Rebel. Or I could sell everything and start from jump street with a new everything. I do rether like the Nikon SLR models. I am leaning toward the cheapest route being just upgrade the body of my rebel. I think I can pick one up for about $600. Not sure how much of a dent selling the old body will make. I cannot imagine that I would make more than $50 from it on eBay. Probably less, especially since it will be the body only.

Decisions, decisions. I always hate decisions. I guess I am left to poder my situation for another couple of weeks. There is definately no hurry since I have not used the one I have in so long anyways.

As we get older we undergo many side effects of aging. Our muscles and joints start aching and our memory can start to fade as well. One of the biggest effects of aging is wrinkles. But it is not just age that causes wrinkles. Wrinkles are caused by many factors. The biggest cause of wrinkles is exposure to the sun or ultra-violet rays. The longer you are in the sun, the more your skin will wrinkle. Other causes of wrinkles are stress, smoking, dehydration, poor diet, lack of exercise, genetics, and poor sleeping habits. So, if you want to reduce wrinkles the first thing you need to do is reduce the amount of things you do in your life that produce them.

The question at hand though, is whether or not anti-wrinkle creams work. There are many different varieties of anti-wrinkle creams out on the market and the choices can seem overwhelming. There are definitely products out there that can reduce aging lines. There are also products that can rehydrate your skin to enable it to look more youthful. You can also find products that remove the outer layer of dead skin cells, which allows for the newer more youthful cells to come forth.

Because of the varying degrees of wrinkles it is difficult to say if an anti-wrinkle cream would be right for you. You have to take into consideration the depth and severity of the wrinkles. If the wrinkles are too deep then you might need to take more drastic measures. There are cosmetic surgeries and Botox which can aid in reducing wrinkles. You can also get a face lift. If all you have is just some small wrinkle lines, then an anti-wrinkle cream would be the most effective.

Ultimately, to reduce wrinkles you need to stay out of the sun. You also need to remove the things in your life that cause the wrinkles. Stop smoking, get a less stressful job, eat more vegetables and exercise regularly. If you are relying on a cream to get rid of wrinkles you are just covering up the symptoms and not dealing with the cause. Even if the creams get rid of your wrinkles, or if you have some plastic surgery to get rid of them, but you don’t change your lifestyle, eventually they will just end up coming back again.

When shopping for a skin care system, it’s helpful to know what you want to address. The products you select for your body will differ from those you will want for your neck and face.

Most importantly, protecting your skin from harmful UV rays requires sufficient sunblock. Consider a lotion with an SPF of at least 55 or higher. There are no creams or magic potions to reverse damage to the skin as a result of sun exposure. The best care you can give your skin to keep it younger looking and healthy is to take preventative steps to protect it. Tanning beds and smoking also have ill-effects on skin.

If you have a celebrity that you trust, sometimes just going for what they promote is not a bad place to start. Product lines like Cindy Crawford skin care, Cindy exclusively uses and helped develop her own products. There numerus other high profile celebrities that are doing the same thing.

Cleaning and properly moisturizing your skin is also important. Your skin changes as you age. The treatment it needed as a teen will not be the same in your 30’s, 40’s or 50’s and older. Individuals in their 40’s will not likely need products to prevent pimples, because the skin produces less oil.

Know your skin type so you can select the proper products. If your face gets oily during the day, you likely have oily skin. If your pores aren’t very visible, you skin is likely dry. If your skin flakes, it’s likely sensitive. Use products to cleanse and moisturize based on your skin’s needs. Consumer Reports picks were Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Cleansing Pads, Olay Daily Facials, Hydrating, Normal to Dry and Estée Lauder Perfectly Clean Splash Away Foaming Cleanser.

Body washes and soaps may be harsher on your face. Some products can clog your pores. Also fragrances may not be suitable for all skin types. Avoid washing your face and neck with products not designed for them.

Many people worry about wrinkles and how to get rid of them. According to Consumer Reports, most wrinkle products do not work. Nothing completely removes wrinkles. Some products show small improvement on some faces and the same products show no improvement on other faces. Of those products tested, Olay Regenerist and Lancôme Rénergie performed best.

There are also wrinkle treatment services provided by medical doctors. However, they can irritate the skin and create more problems than the inconvenience is worth. Since the treatment is unlikely covered by insurance, it’s costly. While these treatments may help, they will not permanently remove wrinkles.

Selecting skin care products based on skin type, taking preventative steps and using a sunblock will promote healthy skin.

Using plants and herbs to take care of your skin is called botanical skin care. Many skin products contain beneficial bontanicals in them. Some of the products claim that they are botanical, however, they are 99% chemicals. Check the ingredients to be sure that they are really botanical. Some of the products just have a scent added, and the words natural and botanical on the label.

These are the chemicals you should not find on the label of a botanical product. One is Parabens. These are also called methyl, propyl, butyl and ethyl. Dioxane is an unsafe chemical that shouldn’t be found there. Mineral oil can be labeled as liquid paraffin, paraffin wax and petrolatum. The mineral oil can clog pores and actually cause an acne breakout.

Alcohol should never be in a botanical skin care product. The names used for this are ethanol, ethyl alcohol, methanol, benzyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol and SD alcohol. The word alcohol itself should not be on the product. These dangerous chemicals can actually end up inside your body, even though you are using them on the skin. They can cause hyperactivity, cancer, depression or even hormonal problems.

The true botanical ingredients in the skin care products should have been scientifically tested first. The safe ingredients are phytessence wakame, allantoin, grape seed oil, babassu, natural vitamin E, co enzyme Q10 and avocado oil. There may be others, but you could try some out and determine which ones are best for your skin care. To be on the safe side, you can always check with your dermatologist.

Other natural botanical skin care ingredients include unrefined whipped shea butter, Dead Sea salt, acai eye cream and lip balm made from natural fruits. The shea butters come in lemongrass, pomegranate, lavender, lime, unscented, coconut and mango. The lip balms can be found in mango, lime and kiwi. with all natural, botanical ingredients. Even Dead Sea salt can be found in lavender, mango and unscented.

Botanical skin care can also be found in the form of different soaps. There are the lavender, oatmeal and shea butter soaps. There are even seaweed and shea butter soaps.

The botanical skin care products all contribute to getting healthy, young, smooth-looking skin by using safe, natural ingredients.
