The SLR Dilema

June 30th, 2009

I have been thinking about upgrading my trusty old Canon Rebel 2000 to a newer digital model SLR.  I already have a digital camera, two actually.  But I really want to be able to get the quality and control of my SLR back.  I have not touched the old Rebel for at least 2 years.  I just cannot bring myself to go through the pain of using real film.  I am spoiled by the digital revolution.

So My options are as follows.  I have some pretty good lenses for the Rebel.  I could keep those, sell the Rebel body on ebay and then just upgrade to the new digital Rebel.  Or I could sell everything and start from jump street with a new everything.  I do rether like the Nikon SLR models.    I am leaning toward the cheapest route being just upgrade the body of my rebel.  I think I can pick one up for about $600.  Not sure how much of a dent selling the old body will make.  I cannot imagine that I would make more than $50 from it on eBay.  Probably less, especially since it will be the body only.

Decisions, decisions.  I always hate decisions.  I guess I am left to poder my situation for another couple of weeks.  There is definately no hurry since I have not used the one I have in so long anyways.
